Mount an external NVMe ssd
by Pedroski from LinuxQuestions.org on (#6PNBJ)
I am using Ubuntu 22.04
Trying to follow the instructions here, I balk at the first hurdle:
lsblk does not show any NVMe ssd drive, just 37 loop, then this:
Quote:
The ssd drive is in the container and the fan is turning.
I spilt water on my laptop, that's why I removed the drive. I just want to keep it in case I need something from it that is not backed up.
Could it be that the drive is unusable? The damaged computer will not even start now, maybe the drive is broken?
Is this a bios problem?
This laptop is from 2018, a Samsung. Is that too old for recognising an NVme drive?
I tried entering the bios on boot. If I do that with my Ubuntu 22.04 usb boot stick inserted, I can start the laptop from the usb boot stick ok.
But I do not see the NVMe drive if I have that inserted and enter the bios on boot. Nor does Linux show it when I plug it in.
It's broken, right?
