latest distro Vanilla OS and Debian
by Herve5 from LinuxQuestions.org on (#6PSWG)
Hello,
I see the latest version of Vanilla OS is now based on Debian. As I am considering to switch my SO's system from Ubuntu to plain Debian with an objective of robustness, I can imagine Vanilla's 'immutability' as something seducing.
(At this moment I'm combining (rsync-based) BackInTime and Timeshift utilities with a dual-HD system for, basically, the same objective)
I'm quite aware that immutability will mean some rigidity for various specific apps, all the more indeed than the Vanilla authors themselves terribly insist on the numerous utilities they added to counteract this.
Any experience her on this distro, and on immutability?
TIA!
Herve
