How hard is it to set up a dedicated firewall using Gentoo?
by L-28C from LinuxQuestions.org on (#6PXMX)
I have a system that I want to turn into a dedicated firewall. First I tried BSD but it's garbage. Now I'm leaning towards Gentoo.
I'm looking for people who have a similar setup who can confirm how easy or hard this is to set up in Gentoo:
I have two ethernet interfaces: eth0 and eth1. Localhost needs to route traffic between those two, while blocking any IP addresses I manually specify.
(Bonus question: Is registration down at the Gentoo forums? It says there is an error creating account)
