Debian connecting a recent WD Mycloud?
by Herve5 from LinuxQuestions.org on (#6Q3YE)
I have been a happy user with a very old WD Mycloud device, for which I had found, a very long time ago, a way to not only mount the remote volume but also to connect to its local web interface to adjust the setup.
It's so old that a couple months ago WD emailed me about their external connection service being stopped.
While I just don't use that service, I'm a bit worried about ageing indeed, and I considered buying more or less a new instance of the same device.
The model name s almost unchanged, but most critically officially it seems one can only set it up with a windows or macintosh application now -nothing is said on web interface or Linux on WD help.
-> is there any experience here with such a recent beast ON LINUX?
TIA!
Herve
