Nvidia officially announces a new RTX 4070 with slower GDDR6 memory — says performance will be similar to the GDDR6X version

Nvidia is adding GDDR6 memory to the RTX 4070 in order to improve supply. It shouldn't affect performance much if at all, but sadly probably won't change the pricing either.
