Former Liberal staffer later regretted going public with rape allegation, David Sharaz said in messages with Samantha Maiden

Brittany Higgins began regretting" going public with her alleged rape in Parliament House and was concerned the then Morrison government was going to discredit" her, text messages between her now husband David Sharaz and a journalist have shown.

Sharaz also worried he would be cast as the puppet master behind Higgins' revelations in 2021 that rocked Australian federal politics.
