Slackware 15.0 slackpkg - persistent checksum error beginning 2024-09-11
by metaed from LinuxQuestions.org on (#6QPHB)
slackpkg has thrown a checksum error for almost a day since yesterday's patch. I recognize it takes time to recalculate checksums, but I've never seen it take so many hours.
Normally I have mirror set to https://mirrors.slackware.com/slackw...ackware64-15.0. I know it sometimes happens that you get a bad mirror, so I tried moving the mirror to ftp.osuosl.org (ftp.slackware.com). I believe ftp.slackware.com is the primary, not a mirror, and I can see the timestamp of CHECKSUMS.md5 there is already updated to 2024-09-11. Nevertheless, the error is the same. So I've started to think something's actually broken, either on ftp.slackware.com or on my system interpreting the updated checksum.
What's my next step?
