Help!
I need a bit of an expert, here, since I can't fix this problem!!

I have a linux box running centos 7 (so, a near-clone of red hat). -I will need to keep this OS to keep software packages working!

For the last few years, I've been able to do a remote desktop log-in, with xrdp running on this linux box. -Through the internet...

About three weeks ago, while I was away, there was a power failure in the building that this machine is in.
I noticed (remotely) that the windows remote desktop couldn't connect. -As if the centos machine was offline, etc.
I went in, and noticed it had rebooted. I finished the reboot, made sure it connected to the internet, etc., and went home to try - and I got the same darn error message (connection refused, etc.).

I've gone back in and checked on the firewalld, port, xrdp, etc... redid stuff like...

a) sudo firewall-cmd --permanent --add-port=3389/tcp
Warning: ALREADY_ENABLED: 3389:tcp
success s
b) systemctl status xrdp.service
c) systemctl enable xrdp.service
d) ps shows xrdp running, firewalld runnng, have re - enabled them, rebooted -- no luck

-I note that INSIDE the local group (connected to the local internet router), that a windows machine CAN remote connect to this centos machine, so at least I know xrdp is working for it. - It of course has a different name than the one over the internet. And... If I us the "remote" name locally, it gives me the same error message as when I'm away...

-I DON"T know if the port 3389 is needed for that connection, or only through the internet???

I've just reconfirmed the name that I was using successfully for the last few years using:
https://www.whatsmyip.org/
Your IP Address is 2xx.xxx.xxx.xx <--- the one I've been using.
Your Hostname:
2xx-xx-xxx-xx.static.yyyy.com.zz

I'm out of ideas! -- What do you think I should try/look at next? -The router, etc. ??

Thanks for your help!
This is driving me crazy,
T MMM
