We're getting to that time of the year when every major retailer seems to have a huge sale leading up to the holidays. Amazon's "October Prime Day" sale is the main event in the fall, which all the other retailers seem to revolve around. This year, Best Buy's having multiple sales spanning over nearly a month in the lead-up to Black Friday.

All of Best Buy's October sales

Best Buy's fall sale is actually five separate sales from Sept. 27 through Oct. 25. Here are the dates of each sale and what you can expect from each:

  • Sept. 27 to 29 is the Exclusive Member Sale: This will be a sale for big tech items like laptops and TVs. You will need to be a Best Buy Plus or My Best Total member which starts at $49.99 per year.

  • Sept. 30 to Oct. 20 is the Apple Trade-Up Event: As the name implies, Apple users will get more out of their trade-ins when using them for new Apple devices. Best Buy Plus and My Best Total members get an extra 10% on select Apple trade-ins.

  • Oct. 8 to 9 is the 48-Hour Flash Sale: This will be Best Buy's equivalent to Amazon's Prime Big Deal Days. They're both on the same date and last 48 hours. You'll find deals on TVs, gaming devices, laptops, monitors and more.

  • Oct. 21 is the Prep for the Holidays Event: There is no information when this sale will end yet, but you can expect deals on appliances, TVs, smart home devices, and more.

  • Oct. 25 to Oct. 28 is the Three-day Gaming Event: This sale will feature gaming stuff, including software, consoles, games, and accessories.

What other retailers are competing with Amazon's October Prime Day?

After Amazon's Prime Big Deal Days announcement, both Target and Best Buy announced theirs. Target is having Circle Week, which will run from Oct. 6 through Oct. 12, and Best Buy is having its five events. Walmart also announced its "Unwrapping the Holidays" sale event from Oct. 8 to Oct. 13.

Do you need to be a member to shop for Best Buy's fall sale?

Only the first event from Sept. 27 to 29 will be exclusive for paying members. The rest are for everyone, but members can get better savings throughout the sales.
