where are my passwords stored in firefox?

where are my passwords stored in firefox?
i tried to move all my youtube stuff to a different userid. almost all of it worked. but when i visit sites where they want me to login, it doesn't try to login. youtube is a big example. normally i just get logged in. so the password is stored somewhere. but under a new userid on Linux i can't get logged in. does firefox encrypt the passwords with the userid o username? i'd hate to re-enter all those passwords (about 75 of them) manually. maybe there is a way in firefox to export them decrypted.
