What OCR tools have you used?

I found images (JPEGs) of old magazine articles I want to OCR. Searches on excerpts from the text turn up nothing. They're good clear pictures. I've tried a few in the past, been unhappy with them. I used an on-line tool once that worked well, but it's gone. I'm only interested in programs you've used successfully personally. I have already searched the Internet.
