Changing resolution doesn't fit laptop screen

I am using MX Linux and my nvidia gpu is NVIDIA Quadro 1000M. My native resolution is 1920x1080, but if i change the resolution the display doesn't fit the screen but goes out of the screen borders. What could be the reason for this?

On the same laptop i have Windows 7 on different partition and i don't have this problem when changing the resolution.
