how to patch usb serial, recompile and load without needing to compile the whole kernel
by vamzi from LinuxQuestions.org on (#6R4B9)
So this is what i am looking for to patch my kernel
https://lore.kernel.org/linux-kernel...sulting.com/T/
Is there a way to just compile usbserial option.c alone after editing it and then load this module without the need to recompile the whole kernel?
I am using a rock board which is running ubuntu distro, i used the guide to download the kernel files and made the edits to optiom
C and compiled the kernel and boot.img and also made the deb files and installed it. But i am unable to load this new kernel.
So my question is if i can compile just the option.c file and load that module alone/replace this in the current installation?
Thanks
