Take your passion for bicycling and safer streets to Olympia February 11–12
Washington State is facing a revenue shortfall, so it is vital that legislators this session maintain the unprecedented" level of transportation safety funding outlined in the 2023 Move Ahead Washington package. As the state's transportation safety crisis shows few signs of slowing, safety funding should be spared from the cutting block. Preferably, the state would increase this funding even more.
Preserving funding is at the top of Washington Bikes' 2025 legislative agenda, along with supporting a handful of other traffic safety policy changes like stricter DUI laws and legislation to streamline the rollout of slow-streets programs."
You can help the effort to preserve safety and active transportation funding by joining the Washington Bikes Lobby Days in Olympia February 11 and 12. No experience is necessary, only a passion for safer streets and better cycling access. Washington Bikes will train attendees before setting up constituent meetings with legislators. Interested folks should sign up using their online form. If you are staying in Olympia overnight, WA Bikes has also arranged a hotel discount for attendees.

During the upcoming legislative session, our leaders will have the opportunity to invest in safer streets and trails, and pass policies to stem the transportation safety crisis and make our streets safer for everyone. Lobby Days is an opportunity for community members to educate our legislators on the real local impacts of passing these policies - or not.
Join us Tuesday February 11 and Wednesday February 12 for lobby training sessions, meetings at the Capitol with your legislators, and an informal reception with legislative leaders. No experience required.
