The US president has said he wants the territory's residents to move to neighbouring countries and that they could be displaced 'temporarily or could be long-term'. His remarks followed a call with Jordan's King Abdullah on Saturday.
Speaking to reporters on Air Force One about the call, Donald Trump said: 'I said to him: "I'd love you to take on more because I'm looking at the whole Gaza Strip right now and it's a mess, it's a real mess." I'd like him to take people.'
The president also told reporters he had ordered the resumption of shipments of 2,000lb bombs to Israel, after Joe Biden had paused their delivery owing to concerns about civilian casualties in Gaza caused by the weapons
