OpenAI has run out of GPUs, says Sam Altman — GPT-4.5 rollout delayed due to lack of processing power

Sam Altman says that OpenAI has to stagger the release of GPT-4.5 due to GPU shortages. The new model has higher processing demands and there aren't enough GPUs for OpenAI to deploy model access to lower tier subscribers yet.
