The gold standard among bang-for-your-buck portable speakers is the Beats Pill, which you can easily find for around $100. But if you're looking for an even more affordable option, you won't be much better than the Tribit StormBox Flow, which you can currently find for $47.99 (originally $79.99) on Amazon after a 33% discount and applying the 20% on-page coupon.

I've had the Tribit StormBox Flow for a couple of months, and I can say that what makes it special is its value for the money. At $47.99, you won't find another portable speaker that is rated IP67 for waterproof, has a well-made companion app with full EQ, has Bluetooth 5.3, and a speakerphone function. You can read more about its feature set in PCMag's full review.

Tritbit seems to be focused on making the best outdoor speaker and earbuds it can while staying within a certain budget. Not all of its products are home runs (I've tried a couple of speakers that disappointed), but the Tribit StormBox Flow impressed me, given the price.

The sound quality is decent for a portable speaker, if not standout. If you play it too loud, you will hear some distortion, but as long as you stay under about 85% of max volume, it won't be noticeable. The full EQ is surprisingly among the best I've seen on any portable speaker, and the bass punches above its weight, especially for a speaker of this size. If you get more than one, you can pair them for stereo sound, and the 30 hours of battery life is competitive with higher-end outdoor speakers.

Is this the best sounding portable speaker? No. But is it a great buy at under $50? For sure.
