SPORTS BRIEFS: U11 North Stars dominate in opener

U15 NORTH STARS KICK-OFF SEASON
The Owen Sound Legacy Ridge Golf Club North Stars under-15 girls' field lacrosse team travelled to Halton Hills on Saturday for an early bird tournament. It was a tough start facing the Oshawa LBK-1, losing 7-1. Loan goal by Avery Thompson. The girls bounced back in Game 2, with a 3-3 tie against KW Kodak's-1. Goals from Ava Ward, McKenna Ward and Quinn Norton Heading into Game 3, the North Stars saw strong defence in a back and forth battle against Orangeville. Owen Sound was tied heading into the final seconds of the game, but a quick goal ended in a loss with a score of 5-4. Goals from Scarlett Stevenson, Ella Todd, Avery Thompson and Ava Ward. Kyla Johnson was strong in net while our defence Callie Sarvis, Addy Fisher, Harper Lines and Scarlett Stevenson held on strong It's a full-team effort, but when the midfield is flying and the attack is clicking, we're tough to stop," the coaches said.
