The Seattle Bike Blog Shop keeps growing. I am very excited by the two newest additions as well as some others that are on the way. If you are a local maker of bicycle-related things, I would love to sell your wares in the shop! Email tom@seattlebikeblog.com.

When you buy anything from the shop, you get something awesome while also supporting Seattle Bike Blog's work. Thank you.

As soon as I decided to expand the shop's offerings beyond things I created, I knew I had to sell this fantastic 2018 book by friend of the blog Adonia E. Lugo, PhD. Bicycle/Race: Transportation, Culture, & Resistance follows Lugo's experience growing up Chicana in southern California, then becoming a bicycle anthroplogist and helping to create the first CicLAvia open streets event.

Lugo is very good at tying together her own personal experiences and observations from within the bicycling movement, her studies as a doctor of anthropology, and colonial history. Even though much of the book focuses on events in Los Angeles, the lessons apply anywhere.

2018, Microcosm Publishing. Paperback. $14.95.

Another Microcosm Publishing creation, I love this high-quality enamel pin. At a time when the worst people in our country are using state power to bully trans kids, everyone needs to push back. Trans kids deserve love, dignity and safety. Full stop.

Microcosm Publishing. $15.
