As the Ontario Hockey League's Rookie of the Year, the Owen Sound Attack's Pierce Mbuyi is up for the Canadian Hockey League's annual award this Friday. Mbuyi, 17, became the first Attack player to win the Emms Family Award after breaking the franchise's true rookie" scoring record and leading all first-year players in scoring with 29 goals and 52 points. Landon DuPont of the Everett Silvertips (WHL) and Matvei Gridin of the Shawinigan Cataractes (QMJHL) are the other nominees for the CHL's Rookie of the Year nod.
