Giants receiver Bryce Ford-Wheaton once again finds himself sidelined for the season before it even really began.

Head coach Brian Daboll confirmed that Ford-Wheaton, who was a key special teams piece for the Giants last season, tore his Achilles on Sunday and will miss the entire 2025 season.

My heart aches for the man," Daboll told reporters on Monday morning.

"I'd be lying if I said I wasn't devastated! I did everything by the book! Didn't take a single shortcut, left no stone unturned, invested everything into my body and my health this year," Ford-Wheaton posted on X on Sunday afternoon. "I'm not sure why me but I promise I'm not going out on these terms. It's a long road ahead for sure but I know this is just part of Gods plan for me no matter how tough it may seem right now. Thank you all for your prayers, please continue to keep me in them. I WILL be back that's a promise!! God gives his toughest battles to his strongest soldiers!"

The 25-year-old West Virginia product is unfortunately no stranger to preseason injuries. During the final game of the 2023 preseason, Ford-Wheaton, an undrafted free agent looking to secure a spot on the roster, tore his ACL.

To his credit, Ford-Wheaton bounced back and played in 14 games with the Giants last season. His biggest play came against Seattle in Week 5, when Isaiah Simmons blocked a would-be game-tying field goal attempt, and Ford-Wheaton scooped and scored from 60 yards out to ice a 29-20 Giants win.

The 6-foot-3, 220-pound receiver played on 78 percent of the Giants' special teams snaps last season, totaling five combined tackles.
