After much media consternation and criticism over the cancellation of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, CBS chief has spoken up about the company's decision to end the television institution after 32 years.
Speaking at a press conference following the takeover of Paramount by the media conglomerate Skydance, George Cheeks, the chair of TV media at the company, attributed the cancellation to financial headwinds faced by the format.
