It's thinner than the Fold6 (3.2mm thinner, to be exact) and features a larger 8-inch AMOLED screen. The Snapdragon 8Elite chip on the upgraded model provides up to 38% better CPU performance than the Flip6. It also includes advanced AI features like Photo Assist, which lets you see before-and-after edits of images next to each other for easy adjustments, and Night Video Audio Eraser, which removes background sounds. Additional upgrades include an improved 200MP ultra-resolution camera as well as Armor FlexHinge and Gorilla Glass Ceramic2 for better protection.
Like the Fold7, the Samsung Galaxy Flip7 is thinner and has a larger screen (a 6.9inch Dynamic AMOLED main display) compared to its predecessor, the Flip6. It has the same protection upgrades and has a noticeable improvement to battery life, thanks to a 4,300mAh battery (though it may drain faster with 5G use). However, unlike the Fold7, camera hardware hasn't been upgraded, and it features the Exynos2500 chip, which isn't as impressive as the Snapdragon.
The improvements aren't as drastic compared to the Fold's updates. If you want a more compact and lightweight folding phone and major performance upgrades aren't a priority, you may prefer the more affordable Samsung Galaxy Flip7. However, if you want a larger phone with all the bells and whistles, the Samsung Galaxy Fold7, is a better choice, especially with the $200 gift card freebie.
