On Vacation: The kid rides her mom’s childhood bike

Kelli didn't want to accept it, but our kid is big enough now to ride her old childhood bicycle. We pulled this 90s mountain bike out of the garage, pumped up its cracked-rubber tires, checked that it's time-hardened brake pads still worked well enough, lowered the seat as far as it would go, and then let her give it a try.

She was so happy that she could ride her mom's old bike, and we biked all over Littleton together. We even found some gravel to test out those knobby tires. I started explaining that fixing up a 90s mountain bike into a modern gravel bike" is very on-trend lately, but she found a roly poly on the ground and stopped listening to me.

We're doing a family double-vacation. This past week we were in Colorado, and now we're on our way to Missouri. Seattle Bike Blog will be back to full speed August 18.
