Latest RB UpdatesTyrone Tracy Jr. appears to be entering the season as the unquestioned starter in the Giants' backfield. Cam Skattebo's hamstring injury has caused the rookie to miss time and delay any chance he had at securing an immediate role. That makes Tracy a sneaky option as a borderline fantasy RB2. In his rookie campaign last year, he didn't begin playing the majority of the snaps until Week 5 and from that point on, he was the RB21 in fantasy points per game.
Browns rookie Quinshon Judkins will not face any formal charges and is now expected to join the team in the near future. It's still possible the NFL could discipline him, but this opens the door for Judkins to get on the practice field and compete for a role in Cleveland's running back room. Having missed this much time in the offseason, Judkins will have an uphill battle to catch up to his teammates Dylan Sampson and Jerome Ford. However, the second rounder is the most talented runner on the depth chart and should eventually take over lead back duties. While he's a value based on where he's been going in drafts, the most likely scenario remains a committee backfield on a losing team - keeping him down in the RB3/flex range.
