Jets' Alijah Vera-Tucker could miss significant time due to arm injury

Jets guard Alijah-Vera Tucker could miss significant time due to an arm injury, SNY NFL Insider Connor Hughes confirms.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Vera-Tucker is getting a second opinion and could possibly need surgery.

Vera-Tucker had been expected to be New York's starting right guard.

He could possibly be replaced by Joe Tippmann, which would mean Josh Myers starting at center.

The rest of the offensive line is expected to consist of Olu Fashanu, John Simpson, and rookie Armand Membou.

Following injury-riddled campaigns in 2022 (torn triceps) and 2023 (torn Achilles), Vera-Tucker started 15 games in 2024, and was expected to be a huge part of New York's O-line.

Vera-Tucker, 26, is in the fifth and final year of his rookie deal and is set to become an unrestricted free agent after the season.
