The Redmond Central Connector Trail now connects to the Eastrail + Celebration ride Sept. 20

With today's ribbon cutting, the Redmond Central Connector Trail now, well, connects central Redmond to the Eastrail at NE 124th Street and all points beyond. This is the third phase of the project, which previously connected through the heart of the eastside city and helped tie together the newly-opened light rail stations, the 520 Trail, Marymoor Park and the East Lake Sammamish Trail.
Move Redmond, Eastrail Partners and Best Side Cycling are hosting a community celebration ride on the new trail September 20. Meet 9:30 a.m. at Marymoor Village Station. (Full Disclosure: My amazing spouse is the Executive Director of Move Redmond)
The new section of trail serves areas west of the Sammamish River while the Sammamish River Trail serves areas to the east. It is also a shortcut to Kirkland. The new section also unlocks a car-free and mostly flat 9.2-mile loop through the Sammamish Valley from central Redmond to the Chateau Ste. Michelle winery and back.
