Week 2 NFL betting, odds: 1 bettor wins $550,000 (!) thanks to Daniel Jones' big game
Indianapolis Colts quarterback Daniel Jones isn't known for his passing prowess - it's part of the reason that the New York Giants eventually up on him after six seasons, despite drafting him No. 6 overall in the 2019 NFL Draft. That, and the Giants only win more than six games once in his tenure.
But Jones has his new team out to a surprising 2-0 start, and one bettor capitalized in a big way on Jones' big Week 2 game.
A New Jersey bettor at Fanatics Sportsbook wagered $100,000 on Jones to throw for 300-plus yards in Sunday's game against the Denver Broncos at +550 odds. Jones ended up going 23-of-34 for 316 passing yards in a wild 29-28 victory over the Broncos, surpassing the 300-yard mark early in the fourth quarter. It was Jones' first 300-yard passing game since Sept. 17, 2023 with the Giants.
The bettor won $550,000 as a result.
Jones currently has 100-1 odds to win the 2025 NFL MVP at BetMGM, an improvement from the 150-1 odds he had to win the award before Week 1. Jones has attracted just 0.1% of wagers to win the award.
Given the lower limits usually offered on NFL player props, it's very likely this bettor was a VIP at the sportsbook, which likely means there have been - and will be - some six-figure losses mixed in with the wins as well.
The 2-0 Colts are 3-point road favorites in Week 3 at the 0-2 Tennessee Titans.
