DOJ Is Now Investigating University Professors For Wrongthink

There's no slippery slope here. The bigoted fiends have already claimed the bottom of the hill for themselves and now they're bringing in the earth-moving equipment in hopes of creating an ideological Mariana's Trench.
Thanks to Trump's resurgence, no one in power needs to pretend this is a good-faith effort. All that remains is seeing how shitty they can be before they're forced out of power, if that's even still a possibility at this point.
Anyway, this latest tempest in a X-pot comes from Texas A&M University and involves a viral video recorded by the aggrieved student and a stream of escalating over-reactions to it. None of the people who want trans people erased from existence seem willing to detail what was actually being taught in this classroom or why this is such a problem that the US Department of Justice needs to be involved.
Notably, the video being shared everywhere by people inclined to believe there's some sort of mass LGBTQ+ indoctrination happening on college campuses does not contain what this student was so upset about. Instead, the video starts with the student claiming what's being taught is illegal" and (hilariously) claiming that this is illegal because President Trump said there are only two genders," which is like claiming teaching about vaccine efficacy is illegal because the president has claimed vaccines don't work.
The president can say whatever he wants. What he can't do - no matter how hard he tries - is erase facts. Fortunately for him, he's got a whole bunch of people willing to fight this battle for him on whatever battlefield seems immediately convenient.
So, when this student posted her video of being kicked out" of class for questioning" the gender-related curriculum, it was immediately boosted by people who were just looking for an opportunity to get their hate on.
Before we proceed, a few non-nested parentheticals about this bombshell" recording: (in actuality, the teacher said the student was free to leave and definitely should go since the student was so opposed to being taught)[and the questioning" was just the student unilaterally declaring the curriculum to be illegal" because the president said some stupid stuff about gender in an Executive Order]{furthermore, the Executive Order just means the federal government will only recognize two sexes; it doesn't actually make other sexual identities illegal."}
Anyway, the university went on X to declare it was going to remove both the professor and the head of her department for... well... offending a student who managed to convert her classroom bitchiness into viral content. Whether or not the school president actually believed everything he said is hardly worth discussing. Every university in this country is just an extortion victim waiting to happen, given what this administration has already done to some of the richest universities in this country.
For the sole reason of ensuring Trump he's always got his boot heel, state rep Brian Harrison reposted the video and said he was referring Texas A&M to the US Department of Justice for investigation. That alone would have been stupid enough. But the US DOJ is even stupider.
On Monday evening, Harmeet Dhillon, Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights at the Department of Justice, replied on X, saying, This is deeply concerning," and the DOJ would investigate.
Investigate what, exactly? If Texas has laws against whatever was actually being taught in this class (something seemingly deliberately left to the imagination of viewers by the person recording the viral video), the Texas Department of Criminal Justice can handle it. Someone telling others that more than two sexes exist, despite President Trump's assertions otherwise, hasn't actually broken any laws. They just disagree with the president, which they're free to do even if Trump has posed his gender ideology theories in the form of an Executive Order.
This isn't the sort of thing the DOJ should be doing, much less the sort of X post it should be replying to. It has plenty of real issues to deal with and it doesn't need to be spending resources on investigating" a school because one student decided to walk out of class and go directly on main.
But this is how this government operates: it throws money at the theatrical and constantly debases itself to appeal to the worst citizens of this nation. In the end, all we'll learn is that the government has plenty of power to abuse, which is something we already know. And the people who know better have long since been removed from their positions, leaving only the most submissive of suck-ups to man the controls.
