The Giantsreceived a new injury scare before taking the field against the Chiefs on Sunday night, as the team announced that kicker Graham Gano was questionable to play due to a pregame groin issue.

But the level of concern wasn't high enough to rule Gano out, as he ultimately returned to action early in the fourth quarter and drilled a 25-yard field goal. The chip shot cut the Giants' deficit to 16-9.

According to SNY NFL Insider Connor Hughes, the Giants' veteran drilled a few balls into a sideline net during the national anthem and then walked to the locker room with a trainer shortly thereafter.

Punter Jamie Gillan served as the emergency kicker through three quarters, and his lone attempt at a place kick in the second quarter went wide on a point-after attempt following a 13-yard rushing score from Cam Skattebo.

Gano, who turned 38 in April, has a recent lower-body injury history. He suffered a hamstring strain on the opening kickoff of the Giants' Week 2 matchup against the Commanders last season. The ailment required an injured reserve stint, and he returned in Week 10.
