Every Monday during the season, Justin Boone breaks down the recommended waiver-wire pickups.

Roster percentages are generated from Yahoo leagues. Free-Agent Budget (FAB) amounts are based on a $100 salary cap. Only players rostered in less than 50% of leagues are considered.

Quarterbacks

Geno Smith, Raiders

Next UpRosteredFAB
vs. CHI28%$1

If we find out Jayden Daniels is going to sit out another game, then Marcus Mariota would be the top QB streaming option. Otherwise, you can look to Smith, who has finished as a top-15 fantasy quarterback in two of his three games with the Raiders.

Smith is also coming off a three-touchdown effort that was mostly fueled by garbage time, but allowed him to post the third-most fantasy points at his position for Week 3 going into MNF.

While he's not going to win you a fantasy matchup, Smith will provide a solid floor versus the banged-up Bears defense next week.

Streaming options (if starter is out): Marcus Mariota at ATL (6% rostered)

Risky streaming options: Matthew Stafford vs. IND (31% rostered), Trevor Lawrence at SF (50% rostered), Sam Darnold at ARI (19% rostered)

Desperation streaming options: Michael Penix Jr. vs. WAS (35% rostered), Tua Tagovailoa (22% rostered), Aaron Rodgers vs. MIN (26% rostered), Carson Wentz at PIT (5% rostered), Jake Browning at DEN (25% rostered), Bryce Young at NE (19% rostered), Russell Wilson vs. LAC (18% rostered), Joe Flacco 4% rostered), Cam Ward at HOU (16% rostered), Spencer Rattler at BUF (3% rostered)

Desperation streaming options (if starter is out): Mac Jones vs. JAX (8% rostered), Tyrod Taylor at MIA (1% rostered)

High-upside stashes: Jaxson Dart (5% rostered)

Long-term stashes: Dillon Gabriel (1% rostered)

Running Backs

Trey Benson, Cardinals

Next UpRosteredFAB
vs. SEA52%$100

While I normally don't write about players who are over the 50% rostered mark, this is one of the rare exceptions. With James Conner suffering a season-ending ankle injury, Benson is being vaulted into a starting role.

In addition to passing the eye test as an emerging talent, the 23-year-old has actually been the more effective runner this season in almost every way other than touchdown scoring.

Entering Week 3, Conner had managed 96 scrimmage yards on 28 touches, while Benson had 119 yards on 16 attempts.

He now steps into a lead-back role where he'll see the bulk of the snaps and touches, with Emari Demercado spelling him on some passing downs. That immediately puts Benson in the fantasy RB2 conversation as a top-24 weekly option.

There won't be many situations where I recommend emptying your budget on a single player, but this is one of them.

Blake Corum, Rams

Next UpRosteredFAB
vs. IND17%$9

My deep stashes column that comes out every Thursday has already been helpful in uncovering players before they become obvious waiver wire pickups a week later.

Corum was featured last week after Kyren Williams' playing time decreased slightly in Week 2 and Sean McVay expressed a desire for a 65-35 split moving forward.

Though they didn't quite hit that mark with a 75-25 snap share in Week 3, Corum continued to be productive on his touches. The 24-year-old has not put up 97 yards and a touchdown over the last two games and is coming on as a potential flex option, while also offering league-winning upside if Williams gets hurt.

Corum needs to be rostered in almost every league.

Flex options: Ollie Gordon II vs. NYJ (20% rostered), Rachaad White vs. PHI (44% rostered), Kenneth Gainwell vs. MIN (10% rostered), Tyler Allgeier vs. WAS (39% rostered)

Risky flex options: Woody Marks vs. TEN (9% rostered), Kareem Hunt vs. BAL (31% rostered), Chris Rodriguez Jr. at ATL (5% rostered), Jeremy McNichols at ATL (3% rostered), Rico Dowdle at NE (13% rostered)

Dart-throw flex options: Kyle Monangai at LV (13% rostered), Miles Sanders vs. GB (4% rostered), Emari Demercado vs. SEA (0% rostered), Zavier Scott at PIT (1% rostered), Justice Hill at KC (4% rostered), Devin Singletary (1% rostered), Jerome Ford at DET (31% rostered)

Upside stashes to roster: Ray Davis (21% rostered), Kendre Miller (4% rostered), DJ Giddens (5% rostered), Tank Bigsby (42% rostered), Sean Tucker (2% rostered), Brashard Smith (2% rostered), Jaydon Blue (16% rostered), Dameon Pierce (1% rostered)

Deep stashes: Zamir White (1% rostered), Tahj Brooks (1% rostered), Chris Brooks (0% rostered), Emanuel Wilson (0% rostered), Ty Johnson (1% rostered), Antonio Gibson (1% rostered), Keaton Mitchell (2% rostered), LeQuint Allen Jr. (0% rostered), Hassan Haskins (0% rostered), Kimani Vidal (0% rostered), George Holani (0% rostered), Cam Akers (0% rostered), Nathan Carter (0% rostered),

Injured-reserve stashes: Tyjae Spears (30% rostered), MarShawn Lloyd (2% rostered)

Wide Receivers

Luther Burden III, Bears

Burden is more of a long-term addition to your roster, rather than someone you're picking up to start right away. But we just got a glimpse of the kind of ceiling he could offer if his role continues to grow.

Bears head coach Ben Johnson said he wanted to start getting Burden more involved and that's exactly what occurred in Week 3. The second-round rookie caught three passes for 101 yards and a score, gaining another seven yards on the ground.

I will caution that he only played 29% of the snaps, so he's far from a full-time player in the offense. Until his playing time rises significantly, there will be down weeks from a fantasy scoring perspective. But few waiver wire receivers can challenge Burden's fantasy upside.

He's a high-priced stash at the moment, who could turn into a consistent starter as the season progresses.

Tre Tucker, Raiders

Next UpRosteredFAB
at CHI4%$4

Tucker just delivered the biggest fantasy performance from a receiver this season with eight catches for 145 yards and three touchdowns. Most of those stats came late when the Raiders were in comeback mode, but that's a scenario that will occur often.

The bigger takeaway is that Tucker is playing over 90% of the snaps and has had two strong fantasy outings in three weeks.

You shouldn't go wild and spend too much of your budget on a WR4/flex option like Tucker, since there are a lot of wideouts in that range who pop throughout the year. However, Tucker will be a startable fantasy flex asset during the upcoming bye weeks.

WR4/flex options: Darnell Mooney vs. WAS (45% rostered)

Flex options: Troy Franklin vs. CIN (43% rostered), Elic Ayomanor at HOU (21% rostered), Christian Kirk vs TEN (34% rostered), Romeo Doubs at DAL (32% rostered), Cedric Tillman at DET (37% rostered)

Risky flex options: Tory Horton at ARI (2% rostered), Dontayvion Wicks at DL (3% rostered), Calvin Austin III vs. MIN (17% rostered), Sterling Shepard vs. PHI (0% rostered), Adonai Mitchell at LAR (1% rostered), KaVontae Turpin vs. GB (5% rostered), Jalen Tolbert vs. GB (0% rostered),

Dart-throw flex options: Parker Washington at SF (0% rostered), Isaac TeSlaa vs. CLE (8% rostered), Malik Washington vs. NYJ (2% rostered), Joshua Palmer vs. NO (22% rostered), Kayshon Boutte vs. CAR (23% rostered), Rashod Bateman at KC (32% rostered), DeAndre Hopkins at KC (19% rostered), Marvin Mims Jr. vs. CIN (27% rostered), Tyquan Thornton vs. BAL (3% rostered), Michael Wilson vs. SEA (2% rostered), JuJu Smith-Schuster vs. BAL (4% rostered), Jalen Nailor at PIT (2% rostered)

Upside stashes to roster: Tre' Harris (5% rostered), Jayden Higgins (21% rostered), Pat Bryant (2% rostered), Jalen Royals (1% rostered)

Deep stashes: Tylan Wallace (0% rostered), Arian Smith (0% rostered), Isaiah Bond (0% rostered), Tez Johnson (0% rostered), Jordan Whittington (0% rostered)

Injured-reserve stashes: Brandon Aiyuk (48% rostered), Jalen Coker (8% rostered)

Tight Ends

Isaiah Likely, Ravens

Next UpRosteredFAB
at KC16%$4

Likely was another player who I highlighted in the deep stashes column last week, now that he's been practicing and appears on track for a return in Week 4.

His foot injury from the summer may have caused him to miss the first three games, but it also has turned him into a sneaky waiver wire pickup.

We'll update this section after the Ravens' Monday night matchup with the Lions, but if Mark Andrews continues his disappointing production (two catches, seven yards, no touchdowns through two games) it will only further the case for adding Likely.

We've seen Likely flash on limited opportunities in the past and Baltimore's coaching staff was very complementary of him in the offseason. With Andrews' early struggles, it wouldn't be surprising to see the younger tight end pass him on the depth chart this year.

If you need a TE streamer, you can look at some of the names below, but if you're shooting for a player who could turn into a top-10 option at the position - Likely is the one to chase.

Harold Fannin Jr. is near the 50% rostered mark but would be the No. 1 TE add if available.

Streaming options: Brenton Strange at SF (25% rostered), Chig Okonkwo at HOU (31% rostered)

Risky streaming options: Dalton Schultz vs. TEN (19% rostered), Cole Kmet at LV (2% rostered)

Risky streaming options (if healthy): Ja'Tavion Sanders at NE (7% rostered)

Dart-throw streaming options: Mason Taylor at MIA (6% rostered), Jonnu Smith vs. MIN (33% rostered), Mike Gesicki at DEN (4% rostered), Pat Freiermuth vs. MIN (14% rostered), Cade Otton vs. PHI (7% rostered), Theo Johnson vs. LAC (5% rostered), Tyler Higbee vs. IND (2% rostered), AJ Barner at ARI (1% rostered), Jake Tonges vs. JAX (2% rostered)

Dart-throw streaming options (if healthy): Darren Waller vs. NYJ (5% rostered)

Upside stashes to roster: Oronde Gadsen II (0% rostered), Elijah Arroyo (3% rostered)
