Scientists using mussels as 'messengers' of water quality, testing for chemicals in Ontario's Grand River

By studying mussels in the Grand River in Brantford, Ont., a team of scientists hopes to better understand how chemical mixtures are affecting the environment. They're part of a larger project, with other scientists looking at species such as snails, birds and fish.
