Jets sign WR/KR Isaiah Williams to practice squad after cutting him

Shortly after cutting him from the active roster, the Jets signed WR/KR Isaiah Williams to their practice squad.
Williams was released by New York following a poor performance in Week 4 against the Miami Dolphins in which he fumbled the second-half kickoff and made a big mental mistake by fair-catching a punt on the Jets' 3-yard line in the fourth quarter.
The 24-year-old cleared waivers and is now back with the team, although his replacement, Avery Williams, who was elevated from the practice squad following Isaiah Williams' release, played well in his team debut against the Dallas Cowboys with five kick returns for 133 yards (26.6 average) to go along with four punt returns for 41 yards (10.2 average).
Isaiah Williams played in three games for New York after it released Xavier Gipson following his own fumble in Week 1.
Gipson, who spent two full seasons with the Jets before this year and fumbled 10 times in 35 games, has since signed with the Philadelphia Eagles although he has yet to appear in a game for them.
