Hamilton mayor tells staff to keep 2026 tax increase below 4.25%, with no service cuts

Hamilton Mayor Andrea Horwath issued a directive to city staff Tuesday saying they must keep this year's property tax increase at 4.25 per cent - which she called a "fairly average municipal inflation rate" - without cutting service levels.
