Eagles at Packers predictions for Week 10 of the NFL season
Eagles at Packers predictions for Week 10 of the NFL season originally appeared on NBC Sports Philadelphia
The Eagles (6-2) are facing the Packers (5-2-1) in Green Bay on Monday Night Football in a wild-card round rematch from last year.
Let's get to the predictions:
Reuben Frank (5-3)
I was leaning Packers until I actually had the chance to watch them play last weekend during the bye and saw them lose to a mediocre Panthers team at Lambeau. That's a game the Packers just don't lose. The Packers are pretty good at everything, but if the Eagles play up to their potential - which they seemed on the brink of before the bye - they're the better team, and I like their chances Monday night. The Packers are 6-2-1, but they've lost to the Browns and Panthers and only two of their wins have been against winning teams - the Lions on opening day and the Steelers two weeks ago in Pittsburgh. The Eagles have played a minefield of a schedule and they have the highest strength of win figure in the league among teams that are .500 or better. And they're a better team now than before the bye, thanks to Nolan Smith's coming off IR, Jaelan Phillips added to the mix at edge and A.J. Brown returning. The Eagles since 2022 are 10-5 on the road against winning teams, and that's impressive. Those are tough games and the Eagles are better than anybody in them. I'm going Eagles.

It's not easy going on the road and winning in a place like Lambeau Field but the Eagles always seem up for these types of challenges. Nick Sirianni teams are 4-0 coming out of the bye week and it always seems like he and his staff are able to use that extra time to their advantage. I'm not sure if we'll see huge changes like we did after the bye last year but there should be some. On offense, the Eagles can probably lean into some of the things they did well in the two wins before the bye. They finally go the run game going against the Giants and they should be able to continue that on Monday night. On defense, there are a lot of new faces but I'm most excited to watch Jaelan Phillips, who was acquired via trade. With Phillips, Nolan Smith and Brandon Graham, that position group got a major boost in the last few weeks. Jordan Love can be a dangerous player but he's without superstar tight end Tucker Kraft and I expect the Eagles to force him into at least one mistake in this game.
Eagles 31, Packers 26
Barrett Brooks (6-2)
I can't wait for Mondaynight! The Birds are going into Green Bay healthier than they left camp this year. They needed the bye week to regroup and build from the last two games. On the offensiveside of the ball, the Eagles were able to get both the run and pass game going. OC Kevin Patullo has won over QB Jalen Hurts and the other rest of the offense with the results from opening up the offense. Patullo is using different personnelpackages like bringingin an extra O-lineman instead of an extra TE. He is calling stretch plays in the run game, getting the ball to the outside. The passing game under center and in shotgun is giving defenses more to read and diagnose.
Defensively, DC Vic Fangio has some new toys and healthy players to use. My eyes will be focused on the pass rush. The reinforcementshave been delivered with Jaelan Phillips and Brandon Graham. The competitionin that groupwill mean some guys getless playing time. This will force players to go all out to make plays just to get playing time. CB2 I hope will finally establish a starter opposite of CB QuinyonMitchell. The next two games will be a bit of musical chairs until Fangio sees who willtake the starting spot.
Eagles 28, Packers 22
Mike Mulhern (6-2)
Despite what the odds may say, the Eagles are poised to go on another Super Bowl run. The roster is loaded. They're extremely healthy. And they know exactly what it takes to get there. Jalen Hurts was playing arguably the best ball of his career heading into the bye week and should pick up right where he left off with a healthy A.J. Brown added back into the mix. The running game showed real life for the first time all season. Add in a defense that plugged all of its holes ahead of the trade deadline, and you can see a trip to Santa Clara in early February in their future. The Packers have been a trendy title pick, but losses to the Browns and Panthers have lessened their shine. The Eagles will make a statementon Monday nightthat they're still the team to beat. New Eagle Jaire Alexander seals it with a pick against his former team.
Eagles 30, Packers 16
Ashlyn Sullivan (5-3)
I feel confident the Eagles will handle business in Green Bay and improve to seven wins on the season. It's interestingwhen you look at the season rankings and see the Green Bay Packers with the 8th overall most efficientoffense in the league and the 5th overall best defense, while the Eagles sit with an offense that's ranked 24th and a defense 23rd in the league. Yet, the Eagles are still finding ways to win and I think they are in the next phase now of their seasonwhere those rankings will start to improve. The offense finally looked balanced against the Giants before the bye week. The addition of Jaelan Phillips can onlyhelp a defensive line that is also getting Nolan Smith back. The Eagles seemed focused and stress-freethis week in the locker room - mainly becausethey know with the trade deadline acquisitionstheyareonly getting better. I think that shows up on the field.
