It's fantasy football championship week and as long as games are being played, injuries are going to happen. The best thing you can do at this point if you endure an injury to a starter is weigh all your options and be vigilant on the waiver wire. It was another rough week in terms of injuries to some key players, so let's go over everything from Week 16 and look ahead to Week 17 - likely your fantasy title matchup.

Latest news and updates

Lamar Jackson, QB, Ravens (back): Jackson was unable to play in the second half of Sunday night's loss to the Patriots. He's considered day-to-day with a back contusion but is hopeful to play on Saturday vs. the Packers, per NFL Network. This is big going into the fantasy championship round. Jackson would be up against a tough Green Bay defense and is pretty banged up. Plus, he hadn't been instilling much confidence in fantasy managers lately, scoring fewer than 20 fantasy points in five of the past six games. Monitor his practices this week but know Jackson is a risky option at QB. If he can't go, it would be Tyler Huntley starting.

TreVeyon Henderson, RB, Patriots (head): Henderson sustained a head injury early in Sunday night's win over the Ravens. As a result, Rhamondre Stevenson got 10 touches and totaled 78 yards with a touchdown. It's a tough spot for Henderson managers who were just seeing his potential in the second half of the schedule. If Henderson is unable to to play in Week 17, Stevenson becomes an appealing RB2 play in a smash spot against the Jets. Remember, the Patriots are still vying for the AFC East title with the Bills and jockeying for playoff seeding in the conference.

Quinshon Judkins, RB, Browns (leg/knee): The Browns rookie RB suffered an injury no one should have to suffer. Not only did Judkins break his leg, but also sustained a dislocated ankle. With his season over, you may be down a starting RB for your title game. Raheim Sanders had 11 carries for 42 yards while Trayveon Williams had four catches for 38 yards on Sunday against the Bills. If Dylan Sampson (hand/calf) can get healthy for Week 17, he could lead the backfield against the Steelers. It will be tough to trust any of these backs with a title on the line.

Jordan Love, QB, Packers (concussion): Love exited Week 16 early against the Bears due to a concussion. He'll end up in concussion protocol and it's unclear if he'll be ready for Week 17 against the Ravens on Saturday night. Malik Willis had 121 yards and a TD plus 44 rushing yards in relief, but he's also dealing with a shoulder injury and could miss the Baltimore game. Head coach Matt LaFleur told reporters Sunday that Josh Jacobs and Jayden Reed are emergency QBs. You'd think someone will get promoted from the practice squad or signed; Clayton Tune the likely candidate. We'll be monitoring this situation closely this week.

J.J. McCarthy, QB, Vikings (hand): McCarthy was forced to exit Sunday's win over the Giants due to a hand injury and was replaced by Max Brosmer. McCarthy's X-Rays came back negative and the QB is considered day-to-day. The Vikings have a short week, facing the Lions on Christmas Day on Thursday.

Davante Adams, WR, Rams (hamstring): Adams missed TNF against the Seahawks in Week 16 but will have a chance to get back on the field with additional rest with the Rams facing the Falcons on MNF in Week 17. With Adams out, Puka Nacua went off for a 12-225-2 line while L.A.'s three TEs were heavily involved. If Adams can get back on the field, it's a great spot for the fantasy championship. If Adams remains out, Nacua could see another 15+ targets.

Rashee Rice, WR, Chiefs (concussion): Rice was a late addition to the injury report prior to Week 16 and was inactive. The Chiefs are now down Patrick Mahomes and Gardner Minshew at QB (seemingly both to torn ACLs). It looks like K.C. is going to start Chris Oladokun at QB the rest of the way, which doesn't bode well for the passing game. Even if Rice can get back, it's going to be tough to trust him in a title game against the Broncos.

Jordan Mason, RB, Vikings (ankle): Mason left early vs. the Giants in Week 16 and Aaron Jones Sr. took over the backfield. Mason finished with three touches and that resulted in Jones getting 23 for a total of 93 yards. If Mason is out on Thursday against Detroit, Jones gets a boost in fantasy value for the final round.
