A minor bit of offseason schedule news this week with head coach Sean Payton telling Pat McAfee on his show that Phase 1 of the Denver Broncos offseason program won't start until around May 1st. Typically, that first start date happens in mid-April so it'll be a few weeks later than what we've seen in past offseasons.

#Broncos HC Sean Payton on Pat McAfee's show today said his team won't start Phase 1 of the offseason program until about May 1 - multiple weeks later than normal.

He said they won't be on the field for OTAs and minicamp until June.

That pushes everything back too. Usually, we see them have their OTA offseason workouts begin in late May. They looks to be pushed into June.

Frankly, I love it because it'll make that dead period in July seem a little less extended. There is a solid six weeks where its hard to find any news in and around the Broncos, so cutting that down a bit would be nice.
