Broncos re-sign RB JK Dobbins to a two-year deal
According to 9NEWS Denver's Mike Klis, the Denver Broncos have re-signed running back JK Dobbins to a two-year deal. The Broncos missed out on Kenneth Walker and Travis Etienne, but brought back Dobbins, who was a top rusher in the league before suffering a season-ending foot injury. Now, he returns and will pair with RJ Harvey in the Broncos backfield.

Many of us had hopes the Broncos would swing big at running back, but the Jets placed the franchise tag on Breece Hall, Kenneth Walker signed with the Chiefs, and Travis Etienne signed with the Saints. With those top targets off the board, the Broncos decided to run it back with veteran running back JK Dobbins.
Before he went down with an injury, he was a top back in the NFL. He had 772 yards rushing, was averaging 5.0 yards per carry, and had 4 touchdowns. He was on pace for well over 1,000 yards and a career year, but a season-ending injury derailed everything for him. After he went down, neither of the remaining Broncos backs could get anything going on the ground. Now with Dobbins back, you know he will be a really good running back when healthy, but the health question is the big concern here. How many games will they have him for?
With these injury concerns, the Broncos NEED to add better depth behind him. Can't have undersized Jaleel McLaughlin or pass-blocking specialist Tyler Badie as your backups. Draft a running back with one of your top 100 picks and mix them in from time to time to keep Dobbins fresh and for depth when Dobbins eventually misses some time.
Dobbins coming back was always a possibility, especially after they missed out on the top free agent backs, and he was the best option available for the Broncos. He wanted back; he was great for the locker room, mentored Harvey, and was productive when healthy. I want better depth behind him, but overall, this is a solid addition to the Broncos offense.
