Chicago Bears News and Rumor Tracker for NFL Free Agency 2026
Wednesday was relatively calm, so let's keep this tracker going for Thursday too.
The League year officially opened for business at 3:00 p.m. CT today, but as we learned last night, nothing agreed upon during the early negotiation period is set in stone. The Maxx Crosby situation has sent teams back to the drawing board, anticipating a ripple effect.
In case you missed it, on Tuesday night, the Baltimore Ravens backed out of their deal to trade for Crosby, and this morning, they signed defensive end Trey Hendrickson to a contract basically the same as the one they were going to have from Crosby after that trade became official.
Fans of teams rumored to be talking with the Las Vegas Raiders before Baltimore's bid was accepted have renewed hope that they can pry Mad Maxx away from Sin City. You can count the Chicago Bears among the teams that spoke with Las Vegas, and while their offer wasn't good enough then, things may have changed.
Fingers crossed the Bears can wiggle their way back into the trade discussion with the Raiders now that the price has seemingly come down, and if so, we'll share any rumors that pop up down below.
If you want to catch up on all the Bears' moves so far, you can check out ourtransaction tracker (open thread) right here.
