Rams ‘checked in’ on Anthony Richardson trade
The Los Angeles Rams were on a list of teams that are rumored to have discussed trading with the Indianapolis Colts for Anthony Richardson. Adding Richardson to L.A.'s quarterbacks room in 2026 would give the Rams a lottery ticket behind Matthew Stafford and probably stop the team from using a draft pick on the position next month.
But does Richardson actually have a legitimate future in the NFL? If anything, Richardson needs Sean McVay and the Rams much more than L.A. needs Anthony Richardson.
The Colts are in trade discussions with multiple teams on Anthony Richardson, which could lead to a deal happening this weekend.

The Buccaneers, Chiefs, Lions, Packers, Rams, and Ravens are among the teams who checked in.

Also on the list of rumored teams according to Evan Sidery's tweet:
Bucs, Chiefs, Lions, Packers, and Ravens.
Baltimore would be a fascinating landing spot for Richardson given the similarity in playing style to Lamar Jackson, a quarterback who isn't as nimble or fast as he used to be a few years ago.
The Rams don't have a backup quarterback right now unless you count Stetson Bennett. Jimmy Garoppolo is a free agent and could return to L.A..
A trade for Richardson likely wouldn't take a high draft pick, maybe a day three pick, but would cost some guaranteed money on his rookie contract and again, he hasn't had any real success since he graduated high school.
