Jack Jones earns large bonus for 2025 season with Miami Dolphins

The Miami Dolphins have been busy rebuilding the front office, coaching staff and roster ahead of the 2026 NFL season, however one former player has more than a million reasons to look back at the 2025 season one more time.

On Monday, the National Football League announced the top-25 performance based payouts - money given to players who played a large amount of snaps for their respective teams while earning a low salary that year - and cornerback Jack Jones was on the list.

Jones - who was signed to a one-year $1.1 million deal with the Dolphins in 2025 - will earn an additional $1.1 million for playing 980 defensive snaps in Miami. That number accounted for 92% of the team's defensive snaps last season. He finished the year with 17 starts which resulted in 77 combined tackles and one interception. He allowed opposing passers to complete 68.3% of passes his way for an average passer rating of 119.3 while giving up 6 touchdowns according to Pro Football Reference.

As the league enters the second week of free agency ahead of the 2026 season, Jones remains unsigned while Miami has added numerous bodies to their defensive back room.
