The NFL owners meetings are underway in Phoenix, Arizona and various executives and coaches across the National Football League are in attendance. Green Bay Packers coach Matt LeFleur is one of the coaches in Arizona right now - and on Monday, he met with a contingent of journalists for an informal question and answer session.

When asked about his former backup quarterback Malik Willis by David Furones of the Sun Sentinel, LeFleur had high praise for the new Miami Dolphins gunslinger.

It's just hard to find a guy that athletic at that position, and we all saw what he could do with his legs... Malik did a great job coming in. He was receptive to the coaching. I think he showed a lot of growth in the passing game... refining mechanics. Obviously [he's] a really talented thrower. I mean, shoot, he surprised me sometimes with his accuracy, especially down the field. He was on point, man. I'm certainly excited for his opportunity in Miami and we're definitely going to miss him.

Furones then asked LeFleur what he thought Willis' chances of having success with the Dolphins would be.

I'd say very high... Too many times quarterbacks get put in situations [where] it can't be all on the quarterback. You've got to surround these guys with pieces. Nobody can do it by themselves. And I'm not saying [Jon-Eric Sullivan and the Dolphins] have or have not, but I just think that has to be under consideration when you're talking about the true value of a quarterback.

Outside of running back De'Von Achane, the Miami Dolphins skill player cupboard is pretty bare. However, with 11 picks in the upcoming 2026 NFL Draft, the organization still has plenty of opportunity to add weapons around Willis in order to ease his transition from Green Bay to Miami.
