The Dallas Cowboys appear to be in the mix for a veteran linebacker. Who is that veteran linebacker? That would be Jordyn Brooks of the Miami Dolphins.

It was reported a few weeks ago that the Cowboys were interested in Brooks, and on Monday it was reported by the Miami Herald that Dallas has indeed made a phone call to South Beach.

When asked about Brooks, Sullivan admitted he has fielded a couple of calls from teams interested in acquiring the NFL's leading tackler.

The Dallas Cowboys are one of those teams, according to a source. However, a deal is not imminent."

The Sullivan in question is Jon-Eric Sullivan, the general manager of the Dolphins as of this season. It is certainly interesting that the Cowboys were specifically named as one of the teams of interest, that is the way things often go, but given the need that Dallas has at the position it makes sense.

For what it's worth head coach Brian Schottenheimer, who spoke on Monday as well, noted that the team has a need in the middle of the defense. Jordyn Brooks may be that answer, or he may not be.

Could Jordyn Brooks be an option? Maybe down the road, but right now that's not believed to be a focus. https://t.co/CcPDL9k81epic.twitter.com/OI2zamTXH6

Time will tell. But reports are starting to come in from across the aisle.

Will it lead to something?

What do you think?
