The The Las Vegas Raiders recently signed offensive lineman Spencer Burford

Let's take a closer look at Burford:

Size:

6-4, 300 pounds.

NFL experience:

He has appeared in 56 NFL games with 38 starts for the San Francisco 49ers at guard. He started nine games in 2025. The 49ers didn't make a big effort to re-sign Burford, who was a fourth-round draft pick in 2022.

College:

He went to the University of Texas at San Antonio. He was first-team All Conference USA in 2021.

Raiders ties:

New Las Vegas head coach Klint Kubiak was the 49ers' passing-game coordinator in 2023 when Burford started 13 games, so they have some experience together.

What's his role?

Burford, 25, will likely compete with second-year player Caleb Rodgers at a guard spot in training camp. The Raiders like Rogers, a third-round pick in 2025, but they signed Burford for a reason and he has experience starting, which will help. At the lest, Burford will be a well-experienced backup option.
