Jacoby Brissett not attending offseason workouts, wants new contract
The Arizona Cardinals offseason is going swimmingly, in the sense that they are drowning.
After moving on from the head coach, quarterback, but somehow retaining the GM and defensive coordinator, they also seemingly were going to stay with the quarterback who led them to that 1-11 finish after the starter was lost to injury".
Well, now that starter wants to be paid accordingly:
Sources: #AZCardinals QB Jacoby Brissett is not attending Phase 1 of the offseason program and is asking for an extension that pays him as the starter.

Brissett, set to make $9.06M in 26, has only $1.5M in guaranteed money and wants security. AZ appears willing to address it. pic.twitter.com/tl5HdMdvnO
So now, the Cardinals go into the 2026 NFL Draft having to make a decision... Pay Jacoby signaling he is in fact the guy at least this year, and he probably wants an extension to go with the pay bump, something anyone deserves that is 2-15 record their last 17 starts, but also signaling maybe you are not going to draft Ty Simpson.
But, if you don't pay Jacoby, doesn't that put even more pressure on you to get Ty Simpson in the draft? You can't go into the season with a disgruntled Jacoby and then Gardner Minshew... right?
Ah well, things are going fine.
