The NFL Draft is fast approaching, and the rumor mill is also picking up its pace. While a lot of the chatter surrounding teams and prospects at this time of the year will turn out to be either a smokescreen or misinformation, it also can give us an early idea in which direction the draft might go.

The New England Patriots, who own two selections on Day 2 after picking offensive tackle Caleb Lomu in the first round, are right in the middle of this process.
