Good morning, New York Giants fans!

From Big Blue ViewOther Giant observationsIf Arvell Reese wasn't available, who would the Giants have taken?: Draft notebook | The Athletic

Reese and Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love, who went No. 3 to the Cardinals, were the top non-quarterbacks on the Giants' draft board. Mauigoa was in the next tier along with Tate, Arizona State wide receiver Jordyn Tyson, Ohio State linebacker Sonny Styles and Ohio State safety Caleb Downs, according to league sources.

LSU cornerback Monsoor Delane, Styles, Tyson and Utah offensive lineman Spencer Fano went in the four picks between the Giants' two top-10 picks. If the draft played out in the same way in this alternate universe, the 10th pick would have been Tate or Downs.

Did NY Giants meet their biggest needs in NFL Draft? We break it down | The Record

John Harbaugh wants theNew York Giants' roster to reflect the player profile he believes can win in the NFL, especially in the NFC East.

Bigger. More powerful. Edgier.

And that goes for every position. The Giants already had that at quarterback and running back, and their pass rushing group brings that attitude, too.

Bobby Jamison-Travis, DT,New York Giants(No. 186). After not landing Ohio State defensive tackle Kayden McDonald in Round 2, the Giants had to pivot in terms of finding some sort of replacement for Dexter Lawrence II. Jamison-Travis provides the team some of what it needed, which is size, core strength and brute force at the point of attack. Jamison-Travis is limited as a pass rusher, but he does the dirty work in the run game.

Thomas Davis: Giants' Arvell Reese can become the elite of the elites' | USAToday.com

NFL great Thomas Davis compared Reese to Pro Football Hall of Famer Luke Kuechly. To me, he has the ability to be one of the elite of the elites in this game," Davis said. I played alongside Luke Kuechly for a long time. He has those kinds of qualities."

2026 NFL Draft takeaways: Browns' and Bucs' great drafts, best sleepers and values | The Athletic

3. The Giants' first-round luck Arvell Reese falling to the Giants at No. 5was very fortunatefor new coach John Harbaugh. If I were a Giants fan, I'd be over the moon about that development. Reese is a special talent who could be a Pro Bowler as an off-ball linebacker or an edge rusher. He goes to ateam that should terrorizeopposing QBs on third downs with Brian Burns, last year's first-rounder Abdul Carter, and Kayvon Thibodeaux, a 2022 first-rounder. That is a lot of juice.

Reese is still very raw as a rusher, but he's such an explosive and violent player, and should be a great chess piece for this defense. I also liked the G-men snagging BYU's speedy linebacker Jack Kelly with the 193rd pick.

Giants draft pick takes swipe at Micah Parsons | NJ.com

Francis Mauigoadoes not lack confidence. That much is obvious, considering his recent comments to Packers star edge rusher Micah Parsons. When Mauigoa was asked how he would fare against Parsons, he didn't hesitate.

I'm going to prepare my ass off," he said. I will prepare my ass off. I know he's known for his stuff. I've got some stuff to prove. Respect for his game, man, and love for it. But I'm going to prepare my ass off. I'm going to study everything. But yeah, he's all right."

Inside Cleveland Browns' NFL Draft room, where trade calls keep phones ringing and high-speed databases whir | Yahoo Sports

With the 10th overall pick acquired from the Bengals in the Dexter Lawrence trade, the Giants selected tackle Francis Mauioga. There's a chance he wouldn't have been available: two NFC teamstried to trade up to No. 9with the Browns.

The Browns didn't get an offer that made them abandon their chance to take tackle Spencer Fano in the ninth spot, but the effort made by the unnamed NFC teams underscores the risk of acquiring a pick before it's on the clock. Two NFC teams were speculating on who the Giants planned to select, and they were trying to beat them to him.

The 8 biggest team needs following the 2026 NFL Draft | PFF

New York Giantsinterior defenders. The Giants found a mix of blue-chip talent and team needs in John Harbaugh's first draft, but New York still needs more up the middle of its defense.

After trading awayDexterLawrencein a pre-draft blockbuster, New York waited until the sixth round to find an interior defender, when it pickedAuburn's Bobby Jamison-Travis. In addition to the Day 3 pick, New York primarily returnsRoy Robertson-Harrisand former third-rounderDarius Alexander, who each compiled a sub-52.0 overall PFF grade with no higher than a 7.1% pass-rush win rate. It won't be possible to replace Lawrence's production in one fell swoop, but the Giants are still yearning for an upgrade along the interior. The team has been linked to veterans likeD.J. Reader, and acquiring one of several names left would make sense.

He laughed so hard at Koo's botched NFL kick that he had a seizure. It may have saved his life | AP.com

A botched field goal attempt by a New York Giants kicker caused thoroughbred manager Mark Toothaker to laugh so hard he suffered a seizure, leading to the discovery of a brain tumor. Toothaker, whose friend is the father of former Giants receiver Wan'Dale Robinson, credits the bizarre December NFL moment with allowing doctors to find and remove the benign tumor. Now recovering, Toothaker plans to attend the Kentucky Derby and has expressed interest in inviting the kicker as a guest.
