Denver Broncos roster review: Kicker Wil Lutz
We're, uh, kicking off our annual Denver Broncos roster reviews with none other than placekicker Wil Lutz. We will run through the 90+ man roster from today on through the end of July, so we should be wrapping things up right after training camp starts. It's a good way to get a feel for new players on the roster and where the carryovers are ahead of camp.
For Lutz, he is a clear-cut starter and if they do add any kickers it would be for practice and camp-related activities. The only way Wil Lutz isn't on the final 53-man is if he suffers an injury.

Lutz had a strong year as Denver's placekicker. He connected on 28 of 32 field goal attempts (87.5%) and was perfect on extra points, going 39-for-39. His long field goal of the season was a 57-yarder, and he tallied 123 total points across 17 regular-season games.
His consistency earned him AFC Special Teams Player of the Month honors in October of last year, which was the second time in his career he's received that award. The Broncos also signed him to a three-year, $16.1 million contract extension in November.
Will Lutz's 2026 outlook with the BroncosHopefully what we'll see from Wil Lutz in 2026 is a a lot more of these types of kicks. High pressure. Game on the line. Automatic.

He doesn't have a huge leg. And you know what, that is perfectly okay. He has an accurate one. The Broncos needed a lot of game-winning kicks last year and he became pretty much automatic on that front. What else is there to say about him? Good luck finding a Broncos fan who hopes Denver gets rid of this guy.
