The New York Giants have announced the release of four players before rookie minicamp begins on Friday.

The biggest name released was popular former undrafted free agent defensive tackle Elijah Chatman. The undersized defensive tackle spent two years with the Giants. His hustle as a rookie made Chatman a fan favorite.

Also released were linebacker Swayze Bozeman, wide receiver Courtney Jackson, and defensive lineman Marlon Tuipulotu.

Chatman played in 22 games for the Giants over the past two seasons. He also made a couple of cameos at fullback last season.

Bozeman played in six games for New York last season, mostly on special teams.

The Giants have 76 players on their current roster, not including seven unsigned draft picks and any undrafted free agents who have signed contracts. That number is unknown as the Giants have not officially announced those signings.

There will likely be more shuffling should the Giants want to sign any of the rookie tryout players who participate in minicamp the next few days.
