Jets, second-round pick CB D'Angelo Ponds reach agreement on four-year contract
Cornerback D'Angelo Ponds is now the second Jets early draft pick to sign a deal with New York after he and the Jets reached an agreement on a four-year contract on Friday morning, reports ESPN's Adam Schefter.
The deal is worth roughly $9.8 million with nearly $8.7 million of that guaranteed.
First-round pick tight end Kenyon Sadiq, and others, signed his contract on Thursday night -- a four-year deal worth $22.3 million fully guaranteed with a fifth-year option. Sadiq was the first of three first-round picks by the Jets to sign with the team.
Other players to sign their rookie contracts on Thursday were fourth-round pick QB Cade Klubnik (four-year, $5.5 million) and seventh-rounder DB VJ Payne (four-year, $4.54 million).
Along with Ponds, sixth-round pick OL Anez Cooper signed his deal -- four years, $4.67 million -- Friday morning.
First-round picks EDGE David Bailey (No. 2 overall) and WR Omar Cooper Jr. (No. 30 overall) remain unsigned as Jets rookie minicamp gets underway on Friday.
New York has also signed 12 undrafted free agents thus far.
